As part of the retrofit of a public school building in Kırıkkale according to international energy efficiency standards, the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization of the Republic of Turkey (MoEU), the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) and GIZ Turkey gathered in a meeting held in Ankara on 14 March 2018. The aim of the meeting was to agree in the measures and final details of the energy concept in order to start the tender process, so the construction work of the school can take place in the summer months.
During the meeting it was decided to aim to start the work on the guideline – which will utilize the results obtained from the renovation work of the model school by cooperation of German and Turkish teams as well as other relevant necessary information – in April 2018. The Guideline work will continue in parallel to the renovation work of the school in Kırıkkale.
The Guideline aims to replicate the results obtained in the project in other appropriate schools in Turkey and to develop the capacities related to decision making for this purpose both centrally and in provinces.
In line with the agreed schedule, the final project meeting will be held on a date between 21-25 May with the 23 May envisaged by the project team.
