As part of the comprehensive retrofitting of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization of the Republic of Turkey (MoEU) service building, GIZ Turkey presented the results of the final energy audit of the MoEU service building to the Departments of Energy Efficiency and Support Services and Undersecretary of MoEU in a meeting held in Ankara on 16 March 2018.
During the meeting, most of the measures were approved and considered for implementation. Findings of the energy audit revealed that even simple measures based on administrative decisions like the adjustment of room temperatures at 22 C in winter time and 26 C in summer time can have a large impact on the energy savings with very low monetary costs.
The need for a guideline document for the new buildings and their admittance procedures was identified by the Ministry and requested to be considered by GIZ Turkey. This should provide the building auditors in Ministries a check-list to follow during audits/admittances, with relevant information on which equipment should be used.
