GIZ contributed at 9th Energy Efficiency Forum and Fair in Istanbul (29-30 March 2018) together with its partner-ministry, the Turkish Ministry of Environment and Urbanization (MoEU), to present its activities under the BMU project “DKTI Programme for Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings”.
During the two days of the event, various topics under energy efficiency, policies and strategies were discussed by means of panels and bilateral discussions by academics, institutions and companies engaged in international energy field / industry. The project for Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings also took part in a panel session called Best Practices on the second day of the event.
In the panel, the project’s upcoming publication entitled “Energy Efficiency Technology Atlas Turkey / Building Sector” which aims to inform relevant decision makers as well as private sector actors on the products, services, actors and the driving forces of energy efficiency in buildings, while exploring the actual and potential technology market for Turkey, and its results were presented. The presentation included general information on the project, the need for the Technology Atlas publication, the methodology used for the publication emphasized areas, the role of private sector in enhancing energy efficiency technology investments and recommendations to reach the potential of the market. The panel was well-received by participants and MoEU and relevant industry representatives underlined the importance of awareness raising on energy efficiency and developing the technology market. Copies of the “Executive Summary and Roadmap of the Technology Atlas” were also distributed to the participants of the panel and interested visitors at the project booth during the fair.
